Changes to the Tariff Policies of the Electricity Distribution Segment And its Effects on the Economic Performance of Investments in Fixed Assets

Objective: This article discusses the effects of changes in electricity distribution regulation on economic performance fixed asset investments. Theoretical Framework: The analyses this study are based Ferreira's (2021) research conducted a concessionaire's database, considering period between two tariff cycles. Method: methodology used included analysis regulatory documents related to 4th Tariff Review Cycle specific distributor, from April 2013 May 2018. these was through organization and comparison versions, continuous readings, following guidelines. Results Conclusions: Although they can cause distortions evaluation decision-making processes regarding investments, analyzed had positive effect selected sample's assets. Research Implications: It observed that important for adapt reality needs sector but impair process investments segment Brazil. Originality/Value: results emphasize importance concessionaires actively participating public discussions proposed by agency carefully evaluate all possible consequences assets provision service.
